Jesus Christ Superstar

The BARS Seniors majoring in English will be presenting Jesus Christ Superstar on March 03 and 04, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. in Mahasaung Quadrangle. It will be a Grand Spectacular Event.

Special Course

A special course on Christology on Revelation (1 credit) will be offered by Dr. Loren Johns, Professor of Biblical Theology, Associate Mennonite Theological Seminary, on March 7 to 10, from 9 a.m to 12:00 noon.

Special Guest

Dr. Betty Abregan, Director of United Board of Christian Higher Education for Asia (UBCHEA), will pay visit to MIT on March 02 and 03.

Dr. Sientje Merentak Abram, Executive Director of ATESEA, is also going to visit MIT on February 26 and 27.

Baccalaureate Service

The Baccalaureate Service for graduating Seniors will be held on Sunday, March 05, 4.p.m. at Judson Chapel, University Estate. Dr. Mary Dun will deliver the message. This will be followed by the Graduation Dinner.

Graduation

The Graduation Ceremony will take place on March 11, 9.a.m. at Hpu Tha Byu Memorial Hall. The Charge to the Graduates will be delivered by our principle Dr. Anna May Say Pa.

Summer Language School

Hebrew and Greek will be offered at the Summer Language School, from May 02 to 22, 2006. This is open to all interested persons.

BARS Opening

BARS second semester will commence on May 02.

Opening Convocation and Orientation

Opening convocation for M.Div., MTS, M.Th, and MACS, will be on Sunday, June 04 at 5.p.m. Orientation will begin with devotion on Monday, June 05, 9:00.a.m.

The New Administrative Team of MIT

Rev. Dr. Simon Pau Khan En and Rev. Dr. Maung Maung Yin will be installed as Principal and Vice Principal respectively at the Graduation Ceremony on March 11, 2006. Pray that their leadership skills will enhance the promotion of theological education and liberal arts at MIT.

Relaxing M-Div Students

The First BARS Graduation

It was one of the historical days of MIT. On 2nd October 2004, the first commencement ceremony of BARS (Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies) program was happily and joyously conducted. Professor Daw Tin Hla Kyi, chairperson of the BARS Advisory Committee, gave welcome speech and one of the outstanding students, Ms. K. Nu San Lung - BARS class of 2004, gave the graduation address. The principal, Dr. Anna May Say Pa, delivered charge to the graduates. The principal conferred the degrees upon 107 graduating seniors and Rev. Smith Ngulh Za Thawng, chairman of the Board of Trustees, led the consecration prayer.

It is the evening program and the dean of BARS is Thra Paw Lu. BARS program is running by over a hundred part- time teachers and four full-time teachers. It offers degrees on Business Management, Computer Science, Religion, English, Social Studies and Fine Arts.
